The HEMI engine may be dying, but the Next Generation Dodge Charger lives! It's proof that muscle car performance is still what drives every Dodge vehicle. Here, the legendary Dodge Charger brings years of performance know how and high-performance swagger to a road near you. And it's ready for some new legends, too.
As a brand, Dodge continues forward by never forgetting its past. The Next Gen Dodge Charger is a prime example of that. Long known for its potent performance and forward-looking design, the new Dodge Charger has taken up the EV charge (pun intended) with electric motors powered by Lithium-ion batteries. The result is instant torque to all four wheels. The powers that be, (whoever they might be) never told Dodge to be boring and slow. As a result, Dodge engineers and designers got busy exploiting the rules to the max. This Next Gen Dodge Charger is the result.
Unique fender badging identifies both the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T and Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack.

For the first time, the new Dodge Charger will be available as a two-door coupe or a four-door hatchback. Both will feature the same wide-bodied stance. Something else attracting notice is the "Fratzonic" chambered exhaust system providing those outside a chance to enjoy the dulcet tones of new American muscle even though the Charger EV doesn't actually make any sound. Still, the Fratzonic is as loud as the current supercharged V8.
From the front wing design within the hood to the fact it doesn't look like a typical battery-electric melted jelly bean vehicle, there is so much "cool" going on with this new Dodge Charger. It is clear this Charger is pushing the envelope in both its looks and performance. For example, the new ultra high-performance Dodge Charger R/T is equipped with 525-kilowatt high discharge rate electric motors that produce 496-horsepower. Its power is sent to an all-wheel drive powertrain insuring peak acceleration with incredible efficiency.
The 400-volt Scat Pack Charger Daytona produces 670 horsepower and over 600 lb-ft of torque through a selectable AWD system. It's so well-sorted that it will out-perform today's supercharged Hellcat Redeye V8. And we haven't even discussed the 800-volt Charger Banshee yet. Stay tuned for more as it becomes available.
The new Next-Generation Dodge Charger is not the electric car "they" want you to have. This is a Dodge. It's an electric muscle car that will make the suits, the rule makers and the lawyers wish they hadn't had a kale smoothie for lunch today. And talk about innovation: The new Charger is available in a coupe or a four-door sedan. Now there's two ways to show your swagger.More trick technology is inside, starting with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and either a 12.3-inch or 16.0-inch infotainment touchscreen. There's a pistol grip shifter, which is a throwback to the Hurst Shifters of the 1970s. In back, there is fantastic cargo space with fold flat rear seats, a rear hatch and muscle car design with utility vehicle-like cargo carrying capacity.
This is a completely reimagined interior that focuses on its clean, minimal design with an available Attitude Adjustment Lighting and refined textures that deliver occupants a visceral feel. Driver-centric screens that appear to be floating allow for quick glances. Combine that with the flat top and bottom steering wheel allowing you to stay more focused on the road for your next maneuver.
The new Charger Daytona is made possible by its 100.5 kWh high-voltage battery that was designed from the inside out to support one thing-performance. This lithium-ion based battery features a high energy density nickel cobalt aluminum chemistry, which is packaged into prismatic cell structures and distributed across 13 in-series modules. What does this ultimately mean? The new Dodge Charger Daytona puts out a blistering 550 kW of power and sustains over 500 kW of power to the electric motors for a full 1/4 mile.
The new Charger is in fact not just an EV. It will also be available with an internal combustion engine. The Dodge Charger Six-Pack is powered by a twin-turbocharged Hurricane straight six engine that will deliver a standard output of 420-horsepower. But to some, that's not enough. In their case, the Charger HO kicks it up to 550 horsepower. This makes it the most power-dense internal combustion engine ever put into a muscle car. Yet, it still lacks the power that the electric Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack carries.
The new next-gen Dodge Charger is the company's promise to build the world's best muscle cars. Their history is vast, and the new Dodge Charger is a time machine taking you from the past and launching you into the future. The new Charger is a direct descendant of the company's origin story and one Napleton's Kissimmee CDJR is proud to show today. The profile of the new Charger Daytona is unmistakable. This is American muscle designed in Detroit.
